LIEDTKE, Nominee for Office of President
Jeff
Liedtke has been actively involved in the geo-technology
industry for more than 15 years. As Director of Product
Marketing for EarthWatch in Longmont , Colorado, he is responsible
for leveraging core technology and partnerships to develop
standard and value-added products, and market development.
Before joining EarthWatch, he was the Product Marketing
Manager for Ikonos, Landsat, IRS and value-added products
for Space Imaging.
Prior to that, he provided business development,
including international project management, development
of Remote Sensing and Digital Photogrammetry software and
hardware systems, and sales and marketing for International
Imaging Systems (I2S). Before that, he worked for the Los
Padres National Forest to develop a GIS database in mapping,
hydrology, soils, geology, and fire management, producing
maps for all land management prescription scenarios.
Mr. Liedtke holds a B.A. degree in Geography
and Environmental Studies from the University of California
at Santa Barbara and a M.S. Degree in Remote Sensing from
Simon Fraser University, B.C., Canada.
ROBERT
WRIGHT, Nominee for Office of Vice-President
Robert
A. Wright is currently with Chesapeake Analytics Corp. as
a Consultant. Until recently he was Director of Reseller
Marketing for QuickBird satellite imagery products at EarthWatch,
Inc. Previously, he provided system integration, consulting,
marketing, and Remote Sensing/GIS support for Atterbury
Consultants Inc. Mr. Wright served as the Director of NW
Operations for Computer Sciences Corp., providing GIS systems
integration and related services in support of their GIS
Center of Excellence and on several major contracts. Prior
to that, he was the Land Information Systems Manager for
Infotec Development, Inc. and directed the development of
their LIS/GIS business area. He served as the State Office
GIS Manager for the Oregon State Office of the Bureau of
Land Management; as GIS Coordinator for the Portland Area
Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs; and as Area Forester
and Agency Forester in California and New Mexico locations
over a 25-year career with the Department of Interior.
He is nationally recognized as a GIS/Remote
Sensing authority for more than 20 years. Mr. Wright graduated
with a BS in Forest Management from Oregon State University
in 1964. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters;
ASPRS since 1986; Sec-Tres., VP, and President of Columbia
River Chapter ASPRS 1996-1998, National Director 1999; GIS
in Action Conference Treasurer 1997 and 98; ASPRS 1999 National
Conference Asst. Director; Rocky Mtn. Region Secretary 2000.
RON
DAVIS, Nominee for Office of Secretary
Ron
Davis is the North American Sales Manager for the imagery
and information company EarthWatch Inc in Longmont. Much
of his career was spent involved in Surveying and Mapping.
Growing up in a Navy family he has lived in and traveled
to many places, and even now he cannot sit still for long.
After earning a Geography degree from the University of
Hawaii, Ron spent five years in Alaska as a BLM Cadastral
surveyor. In 1987 he moved to Colorado and has worked for
private surveyors, the USNPS, and as a salesperson for GPS
surveying and mapping products. Ron also has taught Geography
at the high school level. He lives with his wife and two
children in Boulder.
TODD
TEPPER, Nominee for Office of Secretary
Todd
Tepper spent four years in the Air Force at Offutt AFB in
image intelligence. While in the Air Force, he received
a bachelor's degree in remote sensing from the University
of Nebraska at Omaha. He came to work for TRW in 1997 and
has been working on the USGS task in natural resource applications
using NTM imagery. He has experience in large area terrain
classifications and custom imagery products for various
government agencies.
LEANNE
HANSON, Nominee for Office of Treasurer
Leanne
Hanson is currently a M.S. candidate at Colorado State University
in Forest Science Department studying Remote Sensing and
GIS Technology under Dr. Roger Hoffer. Ms. Hanson graduated
from Prescott College in 1992 with a B.A. degree in Environmental
Studies and Environmental Education, and a minor in Environmental
Design. In 1988, Ms. Hanson graduated from Paul Smith's
College with an A.A.S. degree in Ecology and Environmental
Technology. Since 1996, Ms. Hanson has been a biologist,
managing scientific research programs in the US Geological
Survey. From 1996 - 1998 she worked in the Eastern Regional
Office (Leetown, WV), moving to the Central Regional Office
(Denver, CO) in 1998. Prior to working for USGS, Ms. Hanson
worked for the National Biological Service, US Fish and
Wildlife Service and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Leanne
is a member of ASPRS-Photogrammetric Applications Division
(PAD)-LIDAR Committee and the George Wright Society.
STEVEN
SCHMITZ, Nominee for Office of Treasurer
Serving
as Systems Engineer for TRW, Steven Schmitz is responsible
for the research, testing, and integration of decision support
technology within GIS and Remote Sensing. TRW is a global
technology, manufacturing, and service company that provides
advanced technology, systems, and services to customers
worldwide. He works in project management and in research
& development. Continually striving to incorporate the latest
technical advances in data and systems engineering, his
recent accomplishments include the development of a geospatial
data warehouse for a Federal Government agency, and research
in Remote Sensing and GIS technologies as applied to wildland
fire incidents. Steve was a GIS Manager with CB Commercial
from 1995-1997. He received a B.S. in
Geography in 1996 from Arizona State University. He is a
member of the Association of Old Crows; ASPRS, Association
of American Geographers, International Geography Honor Society,
Member of the National Academy of Science's Transportation
Research Boards sub committee on data integration; Member
of United States Cycling Team (1986,87,92,98); Participated
in 1998 IPC World Cycling Championships (25th in Men's Tandem
Pursuit).
JIM
JENSEN, Nominee for Office of Regional Director

James
"Jim" Jensen has been in the photogrammetry and remote sensing
field for 30 years and spent the last 12 years in the Denver
area. Most of his experience has been in the sales & marketing
of systems for the photogrammetry and remote sensing community.
Currently he is the Western U.S. Regional Sales Manager
for ERDAS Inc. Prior to this, he held key management positions,
including International Sales Manager for Vision International
of Autometric Inc.; Photogrammetry National Sales Manager
for LH Systems; National Manager of Pentax Surveying Instruments,
a division of Pentax Corporation; Vice President of Photogrammetry
Sales for Wild Heerbrugg Instruments in Farmingdale, New
York; Surveying and Mapping Branch Manager at the Department
of Energy and Natural Resources in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Air Force Cartographic Officer with assignnments at Defense
Mapping School and the 480th Reconnaissance Technical Group.
He graduated from Purdue University in
1973 with a Masters Degree in Surveying and Mapping. Received
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from the University
of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1969.
CHARLES
J. BAKER, Nominee for Office of Regional Director

Chuck
Baker is currently employed by Idea Integration as Project
Manager / Senior Consultant. Responsible for managing GIS
development and enterprise implementation projects for transportation
and utility clients. Served as senior consultant specializing
in GIS and web integration and enterprise database implementation
projects. Formerly employed with ESRI, Inc. as Senior Developer
Support Analyst, Applications Team Manager and Consultant,
Technical Support Software Analyst, Applications Team Manager
and Consultant, and Technical Support Software Analyst.
Also employed at the Center for Earth Science and Research
Laboratory in San Diego State University as Student Assistant.
Professional affiliations include ASPRS;
Project Management Institute; San Diego ESRI Users Group;
and the San Francisco ArcView Users Group. Educated at California
State University-Sacramento 1992, Bachelor of Science in
Geography with emphasis in GIS and Remote Sensing, and University
of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Masters of Engineering
in Remote Sensing (in progress with completion expected
in May 2002).
KURT
De VENECIA, Nominee for Office of Regional Director

Kurt
De Venecia is currently employed with LH Systems, LLC in
Englewood, Colorado and has been with the company, and Leica
(one of the parents of LH Systems, LLC) for the past 5 years.
Current job is the Director of Customer Support, Americas
for LH Systems, LLC. Responsibilities include customer support
for pre- and post-sales of digital photogrammetric workstations
and scanners, and the management of the support staff. Previous
experience includes nine years at GDE Systems (formerly
General Dynamics Electronics Division, and Helava Associates
Inc.) in software development and design for digital photogrammetric
equipment in commercial and military applications. Software
development included the Automatic Terrain Extraction (ATE)
application, the orthophoto mosaic application, and the
Helava Automated Triangulation System (HATS) application.
Kurt holds an MS degree in Photogrammetry
from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana (1985) and
a BS degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin,
Madison (1984). He has authored or co-authored many papers
on digital photogrammetry including the subjects of automated
DTM production, automated triangulation, and related areas.
BRIAN
L. SOLIDAY, Regional Director (General)

Brian
Soliday has been involved in the Geoprocessing industry
for over 15 years. He currently holds the position of Vice
President, Sales and Marketing with Space Imaging, responsible
for sales of Earth imagery and value-added information products
in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. He manages
activities in marketing, customer service, sales, strategic
business development, and public relations. Mr. Soliday
has extensive experience working in sales and channel development
for the GIS and Remote Sensing industries. Before joining
Space Imaging, Soliday worked for Autodesk as Director of
GIS channel development in North and South America. Prior
to that he was the GIS Business Development Manager for
Trimble Navigation, Director of Sales and Marketing for
Genasys, and Director of Sales for VL Systems, a developer
of computer-aided design (CAD) software. Mr. Soliday is
a member of ASPRS, URISA and GITA professional organizations
and has served as a Regional Director for ASPRS and as a
member of the URISA Industry Advisory Board.
Mr. Soliday graduated summa cum laude
with a Master's Degree in Geography, specializing in Remote
Sensing and GIS in 1987, and earned a Bachelor's Degree
in Remote Sensing in 1983. Both degrees were earned from
the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
ALLEN
COOK, National Director

Allen
Cook is Chief Technologist for TRW, Department of Interior
Operations in the Denver Business Unit, Systems and Information
Technology Group. In this capacity he provides technical
support in Remote Sensing and GIS to the Department of Interior,
specifically the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S.
Geological Survey in Lakewood, Colorado. He is also responsible
for new technology and research as applied to land management
and environmental issues. Before moving to Colorado, Mr.
Cook was a Research Coordinator managing the Remote Sensing
Lab at the University of Georgia's Savannah River Ecology
Lab. Mr. Cook has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agriculture,
both from the University of Nebraska, and was raised on
the family ranch in Northwest Nebraska. Allen has served
the ASPRS Rocky Mountain Region as President and as Regional
Director on the "GIS in the Rockies" Committee.
